Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s are all about making bold products and they’ve always championed advertising that reflected that boldness. For a while they walked away from the ads that helped earned them hundreds of millions of views and impressions over the years by leaning into humor, but 72andSunny won the business to help the brand return to its roots. The objective was to win back hungry, young males that were the core customers with ads that would create cultural conversation. We also helped the clients realize that the menu R&D was something to boast about because of its innovation, so we created the “Eat Like You Mean It” tagline that served as a call to action whenever you saw an ad or ventured to a restaurant.
